Meet Dr. Anthony Smallwood

Say Hello to Dr. Anthony Smallwood

Dr. Anthony Smallwood was born and raised in Martinsburg, WV. While attending Hedgesville High School, his science teacher, Dwain Donaldson, asked what profession a young Anthony wanted to pursue. Anthony joked, “I want to make my own hours and play a lot of golf.” Without skipping a beat, Mr. Donaldson replied, “you should be a dentist!”

Dr. Smallwood played on the baseball and golf teams at Bridgewater College, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2004 with a B.S. in Biology. He went back to his home state to attend West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown, where he earned his DDS degree in 2008.

Dr. Smallwood enjoys spending time with his three daughters: Corinne, Alice, and Miriam. In his spare time, he likes to be on the golf course, taking in the outdoors, or being with family and friends.

He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Virginia Dental Association.

I’ve been a regular with Dr. Smallwood since they first came to Harrisonburg some years ago and I can highly recommend them. Where would my teeth be without them?

I enjoyed every minute of my appointment. Everyone is so nice. They not only deliver superb dental care, they treat the patient as a real human person, not just a mouth. I went home inspired, threw out the peanut brittle, and started to faithfully use my waterpik.
